AMY'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS! HAPPY 34TH!

It been awhile

Okay! Life has been happening. As my dear friend Kaci has pointed out, I have not blogged in a while. It's been pure laziness I assure you. But here it goes.
Emma has started first grade. She has been excited about it and so far is doing well. Here's the downside to that though. She does not take after her mom on this aspect, but she does not enjoy reading. I am having such a hard time with her getting to read. I have no idea why. I have even tried bribing her. I have encouraged her to read at least 30min everyday and she earns money. At the moment she is obsessed with the chixo girls toys and I did not get them for her for her birthday. All in all, she is well. I have taken on the job this year of PTA Hospitality chair. That has been keeping me at the school for a while. Emma seems to be enjoying me there.
I have started back to school this semester. Only taking one class. That is enough for me. Otherwise just spending time wiht my friends. Amy celebrated her 34th birthday on Saturday. We went to Bennihana and to Cru for drinks afterward. A few of my friends are single at the moment. However, many times I wish I wasn't. just the idea of having someone to come home to and tell me day about is all I miss, well, along with the comfort of having someone with me. It's funny. I have talked to my friends about a boy that I went to high school with. For reasons unbeknownst to me, I have been thinking about him a lot. Just thoughts and dreams (yeah started dreaming again).Only do it when things are weighing heavy on me or someone :)
I have started back the gym. Hoping to do well and keep on track. My goal is to train for the 3day better. Oh that's right still have to work on raising funds. On my to do list. Here are some pics of Emma

MY TINY DANCER!

The graduate on her last week on Kindergarten

Dance, Dance, Dance

Emma had her dance recital last weekend. She did fabulous! She and her friend McKenna both had a great time. It was a busy week and weekend. The last day of school was exciting and emotional. She cried on her was home from school because she was going to miss Mrs. Russel. Her teacher was retiring this year.
Grandpa did not make it to the dance recital and she was disappointed. That night she questioned why could not be there and if he was going to get to see the video of the dance. We emailed it out to him as soon as we could. She will see him in a month when we go to South padre Island, though. It will be a nice time away from Dallas. Don't get me wrong I love Dallas and could not live anywhere else but it is good to get away.

Still working on raising money for the 3day walk, and training for it although my workouts have not been as consistant as before. I keep on truckin on though! Until next time.....

Fabulous Weekend

We had our first Girls Nite out of the Year on Sat. Margie could not make it, she is due any day now. We were suppose to go to Chuy's but, hello, a 1hr and 45min wait. No Thank You! We ended up at the Cheescake Factory. Dinner was really good. We had a blast. My New years resolution is to stay closer to my friends and get together more often.
On Sunday, Emma and I went to our first Chinese New Year party at the Nhem house. Kaci is the oldest friend I have. We have been friends since High school. Her daughter McKenna and Emma are good friends and play well together. The nite was full of food (homemade eggrolls made by Kaci, and Duck- I tried it for the first time- not bad), friends- I am getting more familiar to Kaci's friend that she works with. Emily and Crystal are my favorite (they make me laugh), and drinks- yes it was a school nite but we managed to get in a drinking game while the kids were running around the house and the men were watching football. Is that white trash? It was fun nevertheless. Happy New Year to everyone!

Emma had to dress up like a storybook character at school. So, she was the coconut tree from the book Chica, Chica Boom Boom. She is so funny!
